Den 24-åringe nesbuen fortsetter å imponere med topplasseringer i alpint. I forrige uke gikk det riktignok ikke Haugen Veisten sin vei da han kun ble nr 59 i et europacuprenn i SuperG i Italia. Torsdag 21.feburar var han tilbake i Norge og Kirkerudbakken. Denne gangen stod det FIS-renn i slalåm som stod på programmet. Etter første omgang lå han på 4.plass, men igjen leverte han en god andre omgang og kjørte seg opp til en sterk 2.plass. Kun slått av Joachim Jagge Lindstøl. Det var utrolig jevnt i toppen og det skilte kun seks hundredeler fra Patrick Haugen Veisten på 2.plass til Marcus Monsen på 4.plass.
